Currently when a new user registers for an account the emails are coming from [email protected]. What file can I edit to change this email address.
That's not true for my site. I have this email as the admin email - [email protected] But, the message comes from [email protected]
Website is running on WordPress, Therefore it is the core functionality of WordPress to add it WordPess text before the email address or a site address.
I see what you are saying. I registered as a user in your site and got the registration email from name Wordpress at [email protected] I ran a few test in my site and get the same email results as you do. Email from "Wordpress"; I would normally treat that as spam and trash it. Also on renewal notices it shows from "Site Admin". There should definitely be a section where we can set our personalized settings on those emails. That should be a standard feature. When I get emails from InkThemes, my email shows email from "InkThemes.com". The developers of this theme seem very intelligent and I'm sure they will fix this soon. Thanks for bringing this up. -Edwin
Thanks for making that point so clearly Edwin. Agreed - we don't want our customers to think the emails that come from our sites are spam (or get automatically filtered). Besides, it simply courteous and professional to have emails personalised from the business, and written in a style to suit the market we are working with. As you say, I'm sure support at InkThemes undertsnad this and would not be happy to send out emails to us from 'site admin at [email protected]. I'm sure there will be a solution to this soon.
It is a default mailing function of WordPress. You can change it through "pluggable.php" file. Exist in the WordPress > Wp-includes > pluggable.php Check image for reference.
Thanks, you guys are awesome! I'm still having a hard time locating that section in my pluggable.php file. For now I found a plugin that was really easy to use until I can find that section. the plugin is "WP Mail From II".
