No captcha facility on contact page

On a listing page the contact widget has a captcha field but there isn't on the main contact page. Leaves us wide open to bots doing something nasty - any chance that this can be offered as an option?

 

That's exactly what I realized today.

Support team, please have a look at this to avoid hundreds of span every day in our inbox.

You can use contact form plugin, In which you can modify form fields and can add captcha also.

I'll have to try to find another plug-in Nitesh, that one completely stops the menu drop downs from working unfortunately.

 

Yep, same here the drop downs stop working. This theme really needs captcha to prevent spam.

Hi, thank yo for the plugin contact form, would it be necessary to create/replace with a new Contact Page to overide the system built in contact page form that is used?

 

Yes, that's the easiest way. Create a new contact page and attach a template to it other than "contact". Then make your changes to the menu so that the new page is used instead of the old one.

As an alternative, I bought the .net name of my URL and set up OS ticket with a link from the contact button, instead of using the web form. If you need a developer to help with this installation let me know. You can see it here

 

I'm using Contact Form 7 with Really Simple Captcha plugin. I tried some other suggestions on the board and they were all good ones, but came back to this because the file upload that you can add to the form is so handy. I like the idea of a seperate support url too.
