Default image for the listings which have no image.

Hello,

How to insert automatically a default image for the listings which have no image?

This will be very useful, because all listings will get at least an image - its own image or the default image (such as the logo of the directory).

good point . i have allready tried to include an image ulr as default value of the first image with no result !

 

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do that with our theme unless you custom code something up. Sorry.

Does this request really need complicated custom coding?
I'm afraid not.

All we need is to create a default image and attribute it to geocraft_meta_image1
If Inkthemes' Team help us, the issue could be solved very fast, I think.

It's very important for aesthetics of all your customers' Geocraft Directories.
Hoping Neeraj and the Team consider this.

So all we need is the image file location? Then swap it with our own image and keep the same file name?

The only file Inkthemes' Team has mofidied is single-listing.php (geocrafttheme/single-listing.php).
Because the Forum does not allow to upload .php, I convert the file into .txt and send it to you in the attached file here.
(Don't forget to change it again to .php)

You compare it with your existing single-listing.php file and will know what was the modification.

The location of the default image: /images/default.png

however would I be correct in thinking that this is based on the single-listing.php file pre version 1.7.8 as the changes to Description and Social Media Icons that prevent them from showing in free listings don't seem to be working?

 

Hi, I've been looking into having a default listing image as well... but I'm unclear about exactly what this modified single-listing file is actually doing and the expected results. I have compared the file provided above to the one in the 1.7.8 ver installed and there are many more entries modified than I was expecting, and since I'm only a beginner at understanding code, I'm a bit unclear at this point with what its been modified to accomplish. Could someone provide just a bit more explanation on this? Thanks!

 

Hi, unclear myself what has been modified, I also have been trying to change the default image, I have created an image with Text, 'claim your listing' as this is usually the only time the default image will be showing after importing bulk listings.

It's working in the latest theme update, not necessary any coding.

Some changes have done in the single-listing.php file.
The location of the default image: /images/default.png
