    Upgraded to 1.6.5 went to : Geocraft settings > custom fields / Enable for free listing
    to enable fields from there for free listings.

    Trouble is they are all unchecked and yet still appear in a free listing - please explain!

    Seems like the results of the custom field update are inconsistent at best. Enable/Dibable does not always provide the expected result. Example, you can enable the "Address" field for free users, but I can't seem to disable the "Social Sharing" icons.

    Admin, please take a look at the update and provide your feedback. I have tried enabling ALL custom fields for FREE users and then tried disabling them one-by-one and the results are as follows:

    Listing Title - CANNOT be disabled for free users
    Address - CAN be disabled for free users
    Contact Name - CAN be disabled for free users
    Listing Description - CANNOT be disabled for free users
    Time - CAN be disabled for free users
    Phone Number - CAN be disabled for free users
    Email - CAN be disabled for free users
    Website - CAN be disabled for free users
    Twitter - CANNOT be disabled for free users
    Facebook - CANNOT be disabled for free users
    Google + - CANNOT be disabled for free users
    Tags - Cannot be enabled or disabled

    This is a step in the right direction, but I still think that more control is required.

    To be honest, there is such little attention to detail being shown by the developers (as in this problem) that I'm beginning to wonder if I would ever dare to promote this theme as a directory without causing problems with Paypal due to the high level of refunds being requested. Support seems to have a lack of understanding as has been shown in many threads, almost blaming the user before admitting that there is a bug and then pointing to an update which isn't even ready.

    One issue is fixed only to find another very closely related pops up - no coincidence I'm sure. I'm beginning to feel like a beta tester and perhaps that how this should have been released before being placed on sale.

    As a professional software developer I am shocked by this lack of quality control, the rush to get a quick fix out seems to over ride everything else - Inkthemes reputation will soon be on the line if this continues.

    I just tried what you said you did but only for the Image Uploader fields 2 through 5. I enabled them all one at a time for Free listings. Then went back and disabled them all one at a time. Yet all 5 still show up on the Add a Listing page when Free Listing is selected.

    I also tested it by trying to edit a Free listing and all 5 image fields are still showing up there too. I have not been able to Disable ANY of the fields for Free accounts yet. And don't have a response from support about this yet either.

    This problem, the Search function not working properly (ignores Tags), and the RSS Feed being broken are all preventing me from launching my directory site.

    There is no point in disabling the whole Title, Description, Tags as they are the core wordpress functionalities, No one wants to put the listings without Titles or description. Thats the reason we had no allowed them to be disabled.

    The social sharing icons works in a different way and they can't be made to hide through the same Custom Field Settings. However we have already added a special class to the Free Listings Social Icons, so you can place the CSS code in the GeoCraft Settings -> Theme Options -> Styling Options -> Custom CSS, which will automatically hide the entire Social Icons for only the Free Listings.

    Insert the Custom CSS code below to hide the Social Icons from the Free Listings.

    Code:
    .social_row{
    display:none;
    }

    Two questions/comments about your response, Nitesh.

    All the fields listed in the Custom Fields section have that Free Listing checkbox there. Even the Listing Title, Description, and Tags fields. I agree with you that nobody would want to have a listing without those things but the new Free Listing Enable/Disable checkbox is there now nevertheless. Of course it doesn't work, at least with my site anyway.

    The code you entered above... what it is about that code that makes it apply only to Free listings? I just see the .social_row label. Wouldn't that also hide it for Pro listings?

    Hi Nitesh,

    I just purchased this app, and created couple of dummy ads (free and pro listing ) from wordpress admin. For free listing i did not get following fields appearing in the listing details page;
    - address
    - contact name
    - time
    -phone no
    - email
    - website
    this is the test ad's direct link:
    http://desipages.com.au/listing/this-is-the-test-business-listing/

    issue: i need to be able to decide what custome fields to appear for any type of ads. It seems to me, that other taking about [enable/disable] custom fields for different types of listing, but i don't seem to see this...

    I appreciate your help.. cheers

    In all honesty. A Free Listing should be just the name of the business and address . Nothing else. What can we do for that to happen? If a business can put a description there would be no reason to upgrade to a paid version.

    It is not possible to hide the WordPress core post functionalities like Title, Description, Tags.

    You can certainly hide the free listings phone number/websites or any other key details, which will make the free business listing worth updating.

    I like the ability to select our own differentiators between free and paid listings. It gives us needed flexibility since some market segments will be fine with just the name of the business and address for a free listing, but others will want more than that to even take the time to create a free listing. We all need enough volume of listings in order to create the value for a business to purchase a paid listing.

    So keep up the good work, developers, but please correct the errors as soon as you can.

    On a similar note, I am in development testing right now. At initial input, I set all of my business listings as premium (not free) listings. However, when I log in to my test business listing account and attempt to add any images to my listing past the first image upload field, I get a thumbnail of the image I'm trying to upload, with a big red X above it--in other words, image upload field 2-5 will not let me upload any images to my premium listing, even through the test listing is set as premium. I was thinking this might be because I had disabled those image upload fields for Free Listings, and perhaps an upgrade to premium would work.

    So I selected Upgrade to Premium from my Edit Listing page to go through the Pay Pal Sandbox payment process. Sandbox worked as it should, accepted the test payment, but at the confirmation stage of the payment process, I was not redirected back to the dev site. So I manually went BACK to my Edit Listing page to see if the image uploading situation had changed to allow me to upload images in fields 2-5. Nope.

    This is all so very frustrating as I am SO CLOSE to launching and am not at a standstill until this situation is resolved. Help anyone?
