Is there a way to make the viral plaza coupon offer plugin work individually on each premium listing?

I would be interested in this also Rodger, have been searching for a way to add coupon and QR code automatically with every listing, can be achieved manually but not suitable for large directories.

Not sure if my model is same as yours but for my purposes, we're successfully selling premium listings at $199 which includes a 300 word minimum business decription custom written by one of our writers that then gets seo optimized using yoast plugin. As an add-on, we now only have the inclusion in slider at top of homepage and/or category. I think offering an opportunity for a coupon would be another great way to increase value and charge additional fee. I haven't tested any others yet, just think I should start with an Ink brand plus I like to required "like" on Facebook to get discount. Customers love knowing they've some kind of hook for social media.

Hi Rodger, Your method of having the listings created is very good, both for the business listing but also great SEO for the main site having all listings seo optimized, plus would set a high profile image of your site. I was intending to use the coupon and if possible a QR code as an additional carrot for the premium listing, but was not going to charge, just giving extra value. Maybe need to rethink that one :) I am already offering a QR code image with every listing for use on stationary or promotions for the listed business. This has to be manually created at this time, hoping future developments of theme would include an auto generated QR code when a new listing was created. This is already possible with other themes so technology exists, maybe when all the necessary development completed with theme. Add it to the wish list :)
    Take care

    Hello Roger,

Modifying the Viral Plaza plugin and integrating it with the theme for premium listings owner would not be possible. Building the Coupon Module for GeoCraft needs to be done from scratch.
As of now, we haven't planned to integrate that along with the theme.

    Hi Nitesh:

Ok, so the short answer is no it won't work. Here's a suggestion: the majority of us who are using this theme are probably more active than other themes you make since this is really an e-commerce product. With that, you as developers of this theme have the opportunity to get real feedback from actual "in the field" use, not just bug fix requests as with most of the other theme forums.

By providing feedback on actual use, you can also make Geocraft even stronger and versatile, and probably even more saleable. Understanding who we are selling this too I think will also help. In my case, I have sales people meeting with small business retail store owners in person. One of the most common requests we are getting from our customers is couponing offers - and the fact that your plugin is meshed with liking on FB to get coupon, fits pefectly with what they are also trying to do.

I think if you recoded this for specific listings versus only site wide, you could sell it to us as a premium add-on and make Geocraft even more relevant and helpful to our selling process. My only short solution is to make an image of a coupon and embed it in the text section.

I look forward to your reply.

    Roger

I agree with you Rodger and I would gladly pay a premium for such an add-on, this would make the Geocraft theme second to none in the ecommerce niche. Used with sensible custom changes it is already the best of the best.

    Cheers Tob

Count me in also!!! We are trying to build out a region of niche directory sites and this would be a key selling point for us... I hope some of you don't object to strongly to this thougth.. but... I'd be happy to pay extra for value added feature rich upgrades.

    Cheers,
    chris

There is a work around though it will not be on your main website and will need to add it to the menu or sidebar widget. You could use the coupon plugin on another blog. I am doing this for coupons on one of my sites. I just added a subdomain, installed Wordpress and added the plugin and used a free theme. I added 'Coupons' to menu bar. You could charge extra for this or present it as a bonus. Free stuff is always a good way to attract new business. Hope this helps.

    This feature would be amazing.

Place to enter integer in the backend.

Then the geocraft theme subtracts that integer from total price.

This would take some time although due to the fact you would need multiple deals for each package, or to have some codes not work on certain packages. Or if something happens that the price is 0 or below. A bunch more if and buts would be needed.

Seems complicated, although I would defiantly vote for a feature like this.

I agree that this would make our sites much more valuable and would be a selling point for Ink Themes also if people could add coupons. I am looking into integrating QR codes as well for people to use. There are plugins for all of this but as we all know the problem is that it can only used by admin, not our members. I am looking into hiring someone to customize my site to try and integrate this and other functions.

@Kent: I think you may have misunderstood this thread. The idea is to have VP available on each of our customers' listings so THEIR visitors can get a coupon code as a "thank you" for a FB "like" for the purpose of driving more traffic to their businesses, which makes our offer even more valuable - not for it to be as a discount for our sales to listing customers.

@Nancy: please let me know if you find something that can be used with each listing.

Yes, I must have gotten confused somewhere down the thread line.

That sounds even more complicated. Having the user to enter and manage their own advertisements on their company page.

Hope you get it to work!
