    Hey there support staff,

I was wondering if you guys could look into this plugin:

    Wp-Custom-Field-Search

Really interested in creating a custom search, However I cannot seem to get this to search custom fields on my site.

No worries if you cant get it to work as well. Just wondering if its me or not ^^.

    Hello,

I have also posted in your another thread about this plugin.

Yeah I am really interested in this plugin, however I cant get it to work with Custom Fields. ><

If this worked, I am sure it would quickly become a useful plugin for the GeoCraft theme.

Being able to add between searches, would be amazing.

Do you think it is not working due to the search functionality already set up on the site? I do not mind to lose the existing search functionality if this allows me an advanced search field.

    Hello Kent,

Theme's search functionality not affecting plugin's search. Both are different.
I have also tested that plugin but it is not working.
You need to search some other plugin.

    Alright, Thanks Nitesh..

Do you know if it would be possible to add another string to the inkthemes search?
I am trying to achieve a price search.

I have not taken an in-depth look at the inkthemes search, although I know it searches custom values.

Perhaps I should just look at customizing what you fine fellows have already set up.

    The plugin was a flop.

I cannot get it to work, however perhaps a second attempt / approach would be useful.

I am going to look into the search functionality tonight. I left it to last, so I will let you know if I figure out how to add a new field to the already implemented search

I have got it to work!

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/

This plugin needs a hidden constant value along with your custom field inputs or drop downs to work.
Check out this thread for getting it to work:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/not-working-for-custom-post-type-post-search

    Thankgod someone asked that question.

So you need to set the first field to have a hidden constant post type that would look like this:

    Data Type = Post Type
    Widget = Hidden Constant
    Compare = Equals
    Constant Value = listing

And voila, you will be able to add a search that is more advanced then the one already with the GeoCraft theme.

Anyone needing to search integers or anything I would strongly recommend this plugin.

Staff, I would add this to the sticky plugin thread already available, with an explanation on how to get the plugin to work with the theme.

Anto, you will still need to implement this yourself, as I doubt the staff will change the search to use this plugin. it will just be an optional extra working plugin.

Kent, many thanks for your kind suggestion.
I am now too busy for an urgent project, but will implement this asap and then let you know.

No worries anto, didnt mean to be rude. Just thinking that cause they already have a working search in place, that they would use a plugin to replace it in the theme.

Hopefully this plugin works for you, I can show you an example of it in effect if you need it.

    All the best,
    -Kent
