Hi, I've read some previous threads regarding the results from the search tool. I just want to know if the issue I have is isolated or a global issue with the theme. I have added a dummy listing: Plumber in 14 Harlech Avenue, Connah's Quay, Flintshire, CH5 4TT. If I search for a location nearby such as a Plumber in Shotton (next door town) it does not show any results, is this right, will the search tool only show results for plumbers in Connah's Quay? Thanks
i agree , the search tool is not working fine. hope the support team will take it serious and will do there best to resolve it.
I have another thread about this that hasn't had a response from support. The Search function definitely doesn't work right. I did some testing, too, and the search box does not look at Tags or address. The only thing I can get a search to hit on so far is a word in the business name. This is one of the few things left that is preventing me from launching my directory site.
I agree - its a real show stopper at the moment! I've noticed many things that couldn't be done have now been fixed so keep the pressure on for a version that we can actually use!
The Listing search can be used to search the Address Keyword which is mentioned in the listings. For Eg: In your case, you can search any location keyword like "Plumber Connah Quay", "Plumber Flintshire" etc.. It is not possible for the search tool to display results based on keywords which are not present in address or description itself. So, "Plumber in Shotton" would not show any results.
I, too, have noted the search issues. It would be embarrassing to me so I am afraid to launch. Also, I have another fear. Considering the issues I've seen so far, I have a fear that the theme will "break" after several hundred listings. What's your guess on this possibility?
