Does each page have its own SEO options? Each listing has its own URL so does this help on google? Can we optimise each listing? Thanks
We are all waiting for some answers from support on the SEO aspect of this theme due to having to use the default 'permalink' structure which is SEO unfriendly!
Ok Roger - thanks - yes it would be an obvious SEO feature wouldn't it! Waste of loads of pages for SEO if not.
Hi Nitesh - I cant see where the changes have been made? Is there a section to specify keywords etc on individual listings? I am using All in One SEO as you suggested, is there an option there? could you explain how this works a bit more please - thanks Paul
I have all-in-one SEO installed and it works on my listings, maybe you need to check the settings in all in one seo, make sure that you have the "SEO for Custom Post Types:" box ticked
Just want to say "Thank you, RogerB," for your many posts. And I want to ask if you think the theme is ready for "prime time" yet. I'm speaking of a site that would have nearly 1000 free local listings that I have in a CSV file.
Hi all - yes thanks rogerb and pbys / I-d be interested in your opinion on this as well. I setting up a network of sites based on this theme soon and would have to go and make changes to all as issues are fixed. Of course updates occur all the time BUT it will be far more cost effective to a stable version to start with! Nitesh -how would you respond this question as well? I think the theme is great - just iron out these issues regards paul
No - the themes not really ready for release yet as there are some major concerns to be sorted out. I hope that early this coming week Neeraj will issue another release to cure a few more bugs - for instance a user updating their listing loses some html and wrong information appearing in wrong fields.A good index of update/fixes would be really helpfull as well. The search facility is a big issue as well as the sites navigation will make or break it for the user, SEO is just as important but is not good at the moment due to the default permalink requirement. The payments options need sorting, if too many complaints arise over payments with Paypal you could see your account being suspended. I could go on but you've probably read the threads as well - I will say that in the forum this theme has the largest number of posts, maybe that says something! I'm using this fine tuning time to get a basic site ready with all the categories I need, colours, menus, help pages, privacy policies, standard pricing, layout, logo's, blog posts to start off with to help the SEO side of things etc.I want to add value with extra services for the listing so it needs to be right before launching. If you've got any good ideas to share have a look at http://www.inkthemes.com/community/threads/a-little-off-topic-marketing-your-business-directory.1009/ there are some really good ideas in there already! Keep the pressure on to get prompt updates - after all if you don't tell the developers the problems that you find then nothing will be done to improve what could be a really good theme. This forum is the place to do just that so that we can all understand what's happening and when. Roger
Hi Roger, thanks for your information and time in replying to this thread - it's really appreciated. paul
Great Paul - just a note, I'm a professional software developer and any feedback I can get from end users is listened to, no matter how many problems arise from it! Lets hope we find the same here on this forum with these last remaining problems, Neeraj has often listened and looked into issues in the past for us so hopefully he'll be looking at some of the improvements suggested as well in these threads! Keep up the pressure! Roger
I agree 100%, the guys at Ink Themes should take note and appreciate the patience of its GeoCraft users, the theme has a huge potential if only the relatively simple bugs can be rectified..Come on guys get it sorted!!
hi nitesh and the inkthemes team - any comments on the above. I want to launch several sites but feel Iam being held back by these issues. I went for geocraft because its mobile optimised - should I be looking for another solution?
Download "Wordpress SEO" plugin. It will resolve your issue. Download it from the link given below. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/ It will provide options to add keyword, Title and description for each listing.
