Expired Free Listing to Paid?

I will be pleased if you can help me better understand how the following works:

When a Free Listing is expired, how does the listing owner get option to upgraded to Paid, or have option to remain Free ?

Please advise

I would like to inform you that when a free listing will suppose to be expired then listing owner can upgrade the theme through their dashboard.

Actually there is an option in dashboard to upgrade the theme and listing owner can easily upgrade their theme from that part.

Yes, mail will automatically deliver to the listing owner before the expiration..
