Have uploaded and installed latest version of GeoCraft 2.0.8 and am TRYING to make it work but I have a few questions: 1) On the right-hand side of main page, it displays Recent Comments, Archives, Categories and Meta headings; however, how can I control what displays there? 2) Re #1, I would like Categories to show, as it does now, but the subheading underneath says, "No categories". There ARE categories I've created when I entered my listings so why are they not showing in this area of the screen, as I would like to be able to click on them to search listings by the displayed categories (when I can figure out how to get them to display). 3) How can I control the content of the bottom area of my pages where the theme displays the following: About Us (need to change underlying default Lorem Ipsum text), Archives Widget (not sure what this is, latest date shows 2010), Categories (seems to be hard coded as Entertainment, Technology, etc - none of which map to the actual categories I've added to my site/listings) and Search (what does this search for?). In any event, how do I manipulate this lower area of my page? Thanks in advance for your help!
I have resolved all issues listed above. I do, however, have an additional issue/question - i.e., re the two search fields on the main page, is there a way that the first search field can be configured as a drop down where one could select multiple categories and THEN enter the second search field location resulting in a display of all listings meeting the multiple selected categories in the first field which are located at the location entered into the second field? Perhaps I'm not understanding the manner in which the two search fields work in conjunction with each other, but it appears that it's searching on an 'OR' condition. I need for it to search on an 'AND' condition. Thx.
Hello, Greetings from InkThemes! Hope doing good.. As per your requirement i.e., "the first search field can be configured as a drop down".. So yes that would be possible but it requires a lot of customization of source code and our time as well, As InkThemes has been receiving a high volume of support requests, therefore, we will charge you for this customization, Do let me know if you agree then, I will tell you the amount and mode of payment. And would also like to inform you that the search field is working on "AND" condition.. Thanks & Regards! Priyanka InkThemes.com
Re the "AND" vs "OR" search, perhaps I'm doing something incorrectly; however, when I add a listing and enter the applicable categories and listing location (i.e., city and state), it seems to be searching on an "OR" approach. Example: Listing 1 has Category X and Category Y at Location 1, Listing 2 has Category X and Category Y at Location 2. If I then enter Category Y in the first search field and Location 2 in the second search field, both listings (i.e., Location 1 and Location 2) are displayed with the Heading "You Searched for: Y Near: Location 2. The Heading correctly states what I was indeed searching; however, the search results themselves are incorrect (indicating that it is searching on an "OR" approach. The correct search (as I understand the system should be behaving) should have presented ONLY the listing in Location 2 since that's the location I searched. Re the fee for mods, I'm not opposed to paying a reasonable amount for mods; however, until I understand what's going on with the search issue described above, neither the mods or the template itself will be of use to me. Is there an email address I can contact you at, rather than this forum, so that we can discuss the specifics of the mod request and the pricing? In the meantime, please do address the sort issue above via this forum as soon as possible. Thx.
Status of the sort issue resolution described above please (see Listing 1/Listing 2 scenario)? I'll be happy to give you access to my system so that you can better understand the problem/expedite the resolution if needed. Thx.
Hello, I have already forwarded your concern to the developers department... Yes, you can contact us at [email protected] along with this thread link for further conversation.. Thanks & Regards! Priyanka InkThemes.com
Thank you for engaging development on this issue and my hope is that they will resolve what I consider to be a fundamental flaw asap. I cannot go-live with my site until it's resolved. As such, I must wait for the sort issue resolution before we discuss mods to the GeoCraft theme. Thank you.
Status of the "AND/OR" home page search issue resolution pls? Also, another issue. I have Geo Search Location On/Off setting turned ON. However, all that's displayed when I launch the site is the map with NO location pins displayed. I checked the individual listing pages and for each listing page I have the precise addresses entered AND the location pins are accurately displayed. Having listing location pins automatically displayed on the home page was a primary reason I purchased this theme - as this is the way it is advertised. Pls fix, or if not broken, pls tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thx.
Hello, Have you sent your dashboard details at [email protected]..? Thanks & Regards! Priyanka InkThemes.com
Priyanka, is there any progress to report on the resolution of the issues pls? I sent you the necessary info to access the site/control panel and test it. When you test, please test the following combinations to understand the sort 'and/or' issue: - in the category field, enter ‘3br’ and in the location field, enter 'big canoe' - the results should be only one listing - i.e., Highland Lodge; the system displays all four 3br listings instead - in the category field, enter ‘cabin’ and in the location field, enter 'big canoe' - the results should be NO listings, as there are no Cabins located in Big Canoe; the system displays both cabins instead You can see from the Business Listings tab that there is only one 3br listing in Big Canoe, yet all four 3br listings display in the search results (one in Big Canoe, one in Saint Simons Island and two in West Yellowstone). Likewise, there is one Cabin located in West Yellowstone and another in Gallatin Gateway – none in Big Canoe, yet both cabins display in the search results. Also very much need to have the home page Geomap display the property location pins - as they DO accurately display on the individual listing pages. Bob Neal
Sorry, but if I can't get these issues resolved by Tues of next week, I have to select an alternative solution due to project commitments and will request a reimbursement of my purchase of GeoCraft! That would be a disappointment to me, as I was hoping that GeoCraft would work as advertised! FYI - to expedite resolution, my website is on WordPress version 4.5.2.
Naveen, thank you for your help in addressing the above issues. I do, however, have a potential additional issue - i.e., the GeoCraft Listing Categories on the Appearance/Widgets page describes this widget as follows: "A list or dropdown of categories for place". My assumption is that by entering a location/place in the Home Page search field, the widget will show the number of listings IN THAT SEARCHED LOCATION/PLACE which fall in each category. What I'm experiencing is that, instead of showing the number of listings in each category in the SEARCHED LOCATION/PLACE, it shows the number of listings in each category for ALL LOCATIONS/PLACES - just as it does on the Home Page before doing a location search. Obviously, the behavior I need is for the widget to display the count of listings in each category at the searched location/place - not the count in each category for all locations/places. Thx in advance for your help.
