Not able to link to homepage sections

When adding sections to the homepage (specifically portfolio, custom homepage section, etc)) I'm not able to link to them on the top menu.

What is the correct link strategy to use when linking to these internal sections? (tried #portfolio for example, it doesn't work)

First off, your video has no sound.

Second, did you read my message? I asked how to link to the custom section...and the portfolio. I added these via the widget area but am not able to LINK to them on the menu.

Your video only shows me how to link to team...which I already knew.
