Confirmation message after registering

We are having some difficulty with our registration process because there is no confirmation that the registration process is complete because it redirects to the home page. I have seen your response to previous people asking about this in forum but there is no feedback. We would like to have it redirected to a page after registration so we can at least have a message indication they are registered and a button to proceed with placing an ad. How can we do this?
