Adding something above the Blog Posts

I have set this site to work only as a blog:

http://www.landingpagesupport.com/

however I want to manually add on TOP of the page some embedded
video that always shows before the blog posts.

Which template to I need to add. I do not want to mess up
the coding and I guess you can point me to the right direction.

Hello,
single.php file is responsible for the blog post.
Go to the single.php file present in your theme directory and edit it as per your requirement.

 

it is NOT the single blog post - it is the front page where all posts are shown

and it is with the setting that the front page from the template is NOT being used.

I really asked a specific question, guys. I appreciate your help.

I tried everything. It is not page.php and it is not blog.php and since I deactivated the home page
as with the theme settings I also do not find anything in the home.php - since I do not understand
the internal logic, I am lost

Open "loop.php" file and add your video embed code at the very top of the file.
It will work.

Thanks - there is only one big problem with that.

It now shows on top of every single blog post, too!

I wanted it to show up on top of the blog where people
landing, where they see all the latest blog posts.

I added the code as you said, but this is now rather
annoying for visitors: they see the video when they
come to the front page, and they see the video again
on every blog post they click on...

I hope there is another way to do this.

Hello,

loop.php have no interfere in the single page.
Open single.php file and remove embed code that you have added with the help of post #2.

It will resolve this issue.
