Guys, I'm getting more and more frustrated by Geocraft theme.When I bought it 3 years ago I was so ravy about the tool that I would have. This year in March I've decided I have finally found the topic to use the theme. But.. On one hand the theme offers so many things that should make it so useful and relevant for the listing owners. On the other hand it's still so full of things that can only be customized by editing the code (and I'm not the coder or the one who understand PHP or CSS) and I become more & more frustrated by support provided in this forum. I'm starting to think that Geocraft wasn't the right choice...
OK, I'm much the same as you but what is it thats missing as far as you are concerned? By that I mean I'd like clients to be able to claim listings and I'd like to have more control over pages such as margins, spacing etc without coding but on the other hand for what it is it's not that bad. It does take some work to maintain it I admit, it was never thoroughly planned or thought out, support can be haphazard with much misunderstanding on the language side and updating is something they don't seem to understand or how follow the Wordpress guidelines. Still . . name another theme that is better for the price! Regards Roger B
I miss: quick & responsive support (which really digs into the problem instead of replying that everything works on their side) modern or up-to-date customizable design elements - like google maps instead of the featured listings on the main page claiming the listings cleaner and more responsive design - so we don't have to dig into the code to change button texts These are the main things that make me consider upgrading Geocraft to Responsive Directory theme.. Although I admit it's a little bit more pricey..
