How do I change the background of the slider?

Goto Appearance-> Theme Options -> Styling Options -> Color

and choose your desired color scheme.

Incase you need to put your custom background. You need to do this via custom css.
Appearance-> Theme Options -> Styling Options -> Custom CSS
