    Hello,

Hopefully this is a simple issue to resolve.

I have added a "Blog" page and added it to my main menu. When I click on my Blog link however, the latest posts to show are the latest business listings.

I have made one post ("More Shop Closures" is the title) and I placed the post in a Post category called "Chester Today". This post does not appear in the Blog list of posts.

When I noticed it didn't appear under "Blog" I added the Post into the menu as a sub item under Blog in the menu structure. It can be seen as a sub item but not as a latest posting on the actual Blog page?

In short, I was thinking that all posts (as opposed to pages) would appear on the Blog page, not just the latest business listings. Having a Blog is very useful and as such it would be ideal to see all posts appearing on the Blog page (or a snippet of it with a "Read More" link after so many characters).

Another thing I noticed is that the category I placed the post in (Chester Today) does not appear in the full URL to the post. The URL is - chesterlifestyle.com/more-shops-closures and not chesterlifestyle.com/chester-today/more-shop-closures.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Regards

    Frank

    Hello Frank,

I have just visited your website, it seems like you didn't select the Template: Blog option while creating a blog page that's why the page was displaying business listings instead of blog posts.

So, I have created a blog page named (Latest Blog Posts). You can also create a blog page where you all blog posts will be displayed, just select the Template: Blog option, Please have a look at the attached screenshot.

And as for as category URL concerned, it's a default WordPress functionality that will redirect to the single blog post URL when you select any post from the category, it will not redirect you to the full URL of the post.

    Hope you understand this.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Akbar

    Hi Akbar,

Many thanks for the reply and for sorting out the issue.

I was hoping it was something simple and it turned out to be. A lot to remember at times when trying to add content and do everything else.

    Thanks again - much appreciated.

    Regards

    Frank
