Hi, Would it be possible to have a calendar in custom field for end users to show available dates for rentals etc. ? Not to actually schedule / book appointment, Calendars for single page listings, only to see dates available and dates booked. Thanks, Jo.
Hello, As if now it is not possible to create a calendar in custom field I really feel sory for it. Instead what you can do is you can create a custom field of text type and can mention the available dates in that field. Hope it will work for your and will fix your issue. Let me know if have further any doubts.
Hi Sameer, Thanks for your reply. No your suggestion won't work, it would need to be an actual calendar that user can mark dates available in each month, and dates not available in each month, which would be updated regularly. A calendar feature to choose at sign up, or choose later when updating their page. I can find a calendar plug in that provides a short code, if that would work, but a plug in for 'each' user page could be too much, not sure about this (?). As I build my theme I come to realize this will be important, I am not sure what I am going to do. If you have any further thoughts, I am open to suggestions. Thanks, Jo.

Hello, I can find a calendar plug in that offers unlimited short codes for calendars https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-simple-booking-calendar/ but the problem is, can it be put in the theme so that the advertisers can have access to editing their own calendars. and to apply it to every users Ad page could be too much for theme and functionality of site, what do you think? I am trying to find a solution to a booking calendar for every advertiser page. Here is another idea: When you view a particular ad listing in the directory, where you see the: 'Description' & 'Reviews' (located below the image slider), perhaps in that section we could add tab for Calendar (Availability) and have a functioning editable calendar in there. Hello Jo, Hope doing good. The ideas that you have suggested are great. If you ask me what I would possibly suggest you specially for your ease to go for those plugins or shortcodes that you can easily put on the pages where you need calendars and at the same time less source code customization as it may effect your theme functionality. Hope you understand my concern .

Hi Sameer, Thanks for showing me the theme you mention above, although it is a nice theme I will not be able to use that one for what I am trying to accomplish. In the meantime I have found another theme elsewhere which is exactly what I was looking for. I will keep Geocraft theme because I do like it, and maybe sometime later on I can use it for something else, and maybe by them there will be more theme updates to it as well. Thanks for your help.
