Can I add some right hand navigation on the home page of my theme

I have the Harrington Ink Theme. The home page looks great, but I would like to add the option to have some text and navigation items on the right side of the home page similar to the image I attached. Is there an option to do this and if so, how would I do that. Other pages allow it and I think it would also be great on the home page.
