When I do not add a 'highlighted' picture (see scprt1) to their ad, and other pictures added are large in size, the carroussel will be covered with a portion of one of these added pictures (scprt2). - This seems to be a bug. How to solve it? - Is there a way to have the first picture that clients add to their new ad will be the one selected for the carroussel by default, hence overiding the nescessity to add a highlighted picture? Regarding your first issue, I have checked this at our end would like to tell you that we didn't get any issue related to the carousel, so it would be possible that some of your plugins are conflicting.. So you are kindly suggested to deactivate all you plugin first and check after that.. As per your second issue, This feature is already in the theme, you won't need to set image from Featured Image area, you just have to upload images from the given options as mentioned in the screenshot given below and one of them will become your thumbnail for adds..
