Two related questions... 1) Which 'widget area' is the one for the main Categories page? When someone clicks on a Category and it takes them to a page with a list of all the businesses in that particular category. There is a sidebar there on the right. 2) I would like to setup ad zones for each Category page. That way advertisers can better target their audience. The Ad Manager plugin I use has an option to use the WordPress categories to specify ad zones but this theme uses a separate Categories listing, not the WP Categories. If I could set a specific widget area for each category page I could control it that way. Don't know how to do that though. Any answers or suggestions on how to do this?
1) Through "Listing widget area" you can add widgets for categories page. 2) You can set Ad widget in the "Listing widget area" for category pages.
Nitesh, that does not answer my question. Well, not entirely. I want to have separate ad zones for each of the main categories. The Listing Widget Area covers all category pages and all listing details pages. How would I go about separating the categories like the Category Featured Listing does?
No. After purchasing and trying a couple of them, the best Ads Management plugin on the market right now is OIOpublisher.
Please don't forget about this. I still need help here. The ad manager plugin I use is OIO Publisher. It has an option where I can tie an ad zone to a category but the GeoCraft theme does not use the normal WordPress categories. It uses its own Listing Categories. There no specific category pages that I can see. It would make sense to allow advertisers to target their ads to a specific category. For example, someone offering health insurance might want to target businesses in the Services category. If the ads are more targeted then it justifies a higher price.
If you wish to place different ads on different categories, you need to look out for some plugins which will allows you to place dynamic sidebar widgets on the basis of custom taxonomies. Here are few suggested plugin which will work with some custom coding. > http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dynamic-widgets/ > http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dynamics-sidebars/
