I've been testing the search feature and found something strange. If I search for 'Barnstaple' (without the quotes) in the location field of the search box it changes my categories sidebar text to italics! It only seems to happen with this town name so far. Would someone please confirm this is the case and I'm not going nutts? url: http://www.ilovefire.co.uk Thanks aZZa
You're correct it does turn your side bar to italics when searchin 'Barnstaple' but not with other location terms!
Also does it when you search 'Devon' so I would suggest its something to do with this listing http://www.ilovefire.co.uk/listing/journeyman-chimney-services-chimney-sweeps/
Thanks for your time spoonboy90. Its strange! I agree about the listing you mentioned. This listing is the one i mentioned that reported he couldn't scroll through categories with his ipad. I'll take a look and thanks again.
Also take a look at these and notice the difference in the two adds and why in the search it is 'Comments Off' and not 'No Reviews' http://www.ilovefire.co.uk/listcat/devon-north/ http://www.ilovefire.co.uk/search/?sfrom=&location=Devon I have a similar issue with a search result where there is a review which makes the right hand bar appear below the results!
I've just had a thought... where it cuts off the text for the small preview on the search page is in the middle of the italics section so perhaps the closing tag isn't getting closed! The search seems to use the description formatting but the direct link doesn't
Ok solved the italics issue by editing the listing (kindly spotted by spoonboy90) description in the back end. I think the client had copied/pasted the description from elsewhere which had carried over some legacy formatting which Geocraft didn't like. Cut and paste as plain text sorted this. @Spoonboy90 yes I agree, search is pulling 'Comments Off' and not 'Reviews' I think you have already fixed the other issue.
Yes I had the same issue as you, cut and paste from Facebook was the problem... Stick with very basic html would be my motto/advice. I think i'll have to be quite pro-active in monitoring new listings in future.
