Changes to Main Area on Home Page?

Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to remove the "Recently Added" section on the main section
of the home page and replace it with my categories instead.

Please advise if possible and how to do it.

Hello Senton,

It seems you would like to display your category page contents on the home page.

No, it is not possible without customizing the source code, this will require a page template calling your particular category content.

Then you can use it as a static page.

If you are wondering to remove the Sidebar contents then, you can easily do it from Widget areas. Just replace the Category Widget there.

But anyways, yes i would like the categories to be on my home page instead of recently added.

I think what u are saying is that the listing
Will not show on the home page...only the categories will
Show on the home page and the listings will
Not show until the user selects a category.

If this is what you mean, then yes it is
Exactly what I want

 

I meant for my above statement is that you will get your listings from only a specific category to display on your homepage..

Like if you have created two categories named as XYZ and ABC and assign some of your listings to XYZ and some listing to ABC, only the listing from XYZ or ABC category will show on your homepage rather than all your created listing...

And you will have the authority to select which listing you want to display..either it will be XYZ or ABC..
