Changing colour of the title v2

Hi I'm new to wordpress! I've just tried to change the grey from the title bar so my image fits the width of the site and I followed the question title 'Changing colour of title' changed the reading setting and now my image is lost and the grey remains! I also want it to be a static page not a post page.

 

Sorry - I've worked out how to get my image back but the grey bar still appears...
