Greetings This site is brand new so it is running 1.79 and a child theme that I had made for another site. The only files that have been altered in the child theme are front-page.php and taxonomy-listcat.php. With the child theme running when I turn the front page to "off" and select from the pages area one of them to be the front page under WP settings > Reading, the page will not appear as the directories index page. If I activate Geocraft main theme this option works so there is something in the child theme stopping this happen. Any ideas please as I like to use this feature using the child theme and make one of my pages the main index page. Also the slider on the current main page has large gaps to the top and bottom and I like to eliminate those. I removed the spaces around the code in the front-page.php which only made a little difference. Appreciate some assistance here as well.
Hello nzcid, I have followed process you have posted above but not found such issue. So please download child theme attached with the post and upload it. It will work fine. And for slider gap provide your website link.
Hey Nitesh Apologies www.giveawayfree.net for the gap issue. I am already running that child theme, but for the time being it does not matter any more about turning the front page off, found a different way to handle things.
