Possibly <grin>.... I am confused.... <grin some more> I want to put adsense on my directory site. I have found references to using an ad injection plugin.... that only seems to work in the footer area. I have also seen references to folks that have hardcoded the ads into their pages.... I can do that.... but that seems like extra complexity every time there is a mod to the theme... I also found reference to fol;ks using a childtheme... which they modified with the custom code necessary for the ads... and it seems that this might solve the complexity during theme upgrade problem above.... I downloaded the child theme that was provided in another thread but it does not seem to work (won't install correctly) on my site. In a perfect world, I would be able to put adsense in the sidebar.... at the top of each page... in the footer and in each page..... pages/posts/ and listings.... A couple questions.... Are my assumptions about what I have read correct? Is what I want to do, possible? Is there a better way to go about this? Thanks! chris
Hello Chris, Child theme is the only solution for this problem. Please download child theme attached and upload it again. It will work.
Thanks Nitesh! It reinstalled just fine that time. Maybe you can save me some time here...? As far as my wishlist goes.... I can't imagine that putting adsense in the sidebar is difficult so I will assume that is doable. Can I use this childtheme to put content... in this case adsense.... in the top of each page... above the slider on pages that have sliders? How about inside pages and posts.... without doing it individually....? And, of course.... at the bottom of each page? Thanks! chris
Hey Chris, Need any questions from me answered about our previous chat, just let me know. I am on all tonight.
Hi Kent, I was out all day today. Thanks for the offer though. As soon as I get a spare few hours or a day.... I am going to sit down and dig my way through this. By the time I am done... I would like to, at least, understand how much control we have over unique "boilerplate".... if there is such a thing Thanks again! chris
