Customize site title & tagline damages SEO, help please

When you complete the site title and tagline through customize which as far as I can see is the only way to give your site a home page a title it adds the title and tagline at the end of every page title on the site?

How can this be changed as this damages the overall SEO of the site as the tagline and title will not be relevant to all pages?

When you make changes in the tagline and title through customize this will for the whole website not for only the home pages.

OK, thanks but I need to be able to create a page title, description, keywords for the home page ( I do not use a static page ). How do I do this without using the customize area?

Yoast conflicts with your theme I think you have a tweak to resolve this, can you advise what I need to do to use yoast please?

 

I have fixed this now by reading an earlier thread and changing the header.php file. Thanks
