How to enter info to main blog page?

When "Blog" is clicked on from header or footer, the first page that's shown is the blog page that shows the last blog posted and a short view of the blog. You have the choice to click on the gray area of the page or "More" .

Once gray area or "More" is clicked then you are sent to the blog.

My question is the following:
Can the gray area page have some kind of text/image that can greet visitors.

 

Hi,

I would like to let you know that you need to set the featured image for your posts which will replace that gray area with the appropriate image.

You can set the featured image from the option provided in the theme while editing the posts, as shown in the screenshot below.
