Error Activating Theme

When I uploaded this theme to and activated it I got the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/19/11279019/html/wp-content/themes/themiatheme/functions/inkthemes-functions.php on line 1

I am using the latest version of WP and the PRO version of the theme. I noticed the instruction posted on a similiar thread

I'm not sure I am comfortable with providing those details. Can you tell me how to resolve this? Or would it be possible to get my money back?

We are not getting such issue at our side. It is not a common issue, It varies from server to server.
So providing random solution for you is just a wastage your time.

For others who hit this wall, I received an email which helped. Turns out, it is best to upload the theme via the WP dashboard rather than just straight to the server. Lesson learned. Just in case someone else runs into this newbie issue:

There is some problem while installing the theme, so we would suggest you to install the theme again from your dashboard, but first remove the old theme and then install the new theme, it will solve your problem.
