Footer is adding slashes \\\\\

In the footer of my website, backslashes keep appearing that should not be there.
http://www.covitravel.com/teahouseconnection/
It should read:
The Tea House Connection 'Refreshment for the Mind, Body and Spirit'

But it now appears like this in Appearance/Footer Text/ Footer Text:
The Tea House Connection \\\'Refreshment for the Mind, Body and Spirit\\\'

and like this on the webpage:
The Tea House Connection \'Refreshment for the Mind, Body and Spirit\'

My goal is to have a few spaces after "Connection" and a single quote around 'Refreshment for the Mind, Body and Spirit'. Is there anyway to do this? I've gone in and removed the backslashes several times from Appearance/Footer Text/ Footer Text, but they keep reappearing. I have added a screenshot.

 

Was this ever resolved? I am getting the same backslashes in front of every single quote.

I changed the quote mark (')to a tilde (~)
