If all you want to do is enhance the standard contact form in your Geocraft theme, say by adding Captcha, then this free plugin will do it. However, if you want to add other forms to your site, such as for specific types of help, with several custom fields that are specific to your needs, I highly recommend that you check out this free plugin. It's called Fast Secure Contact Form. Get it at: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/si-contact-form/ You will be amazed at how powerful and flexible it is. I originally used it as a replacement for the Geocraft contact us form as an easy way to add Captcha. Since then I've added 4 new forms to my site. PLEASE NOTE - there is currently a session variable bug in the Geocraft theme that prevents the Captcha from working right. Does this plugin allow you to designate where the web form gets sent to? versus the current web form going only to admin and listing owner?
Roger - absolutely. You can send the responses to any email address you want. The flexibility it provides is remarkable. I've programmed many web forms myself from scratch, which takes a long time - but it provides great flexibility. This plugin provides close to the same flexibility without any programming - just by answering questions and selecting options. I originally installed this plugin simply to add a Captcha feature to the GeoCraft contact us form. I replicated the original form using the plugin and put it in a new page. Then I changed the navigation to call the new contact page instead of the standard one. That's how it started. I now have 6 or 7 forms throughout the site.
Ok, before I proceed, one more question: I would want this to replace the current leads form on every listing page, not the standard contact us form that comes to me. Can that be done with this? My issue with the leads form is I have affiliates selling listings that need to stay as the "owner" in order to get credit for commissions and so I know who sold which listing. The current configuration has the leads hard coded to go only to admin and owner. I need the leads to go to the listing email, not the "owner" which is really my affiliate sales person. Thoughts?
Roger - this plugin works great to replace or create an entire page with a form on it. That's different from changing the form logic on an existing page. To modify the leads form on a listings page in GeoCraft requires getting into some php programming. Sorry... - Cary
Hello Cary, Could you please advise if you have had any problem with the Captcha, I have had this plugin running but having trouble with the Captcha entry not being recognized or accepted and requesting correct entry with a new Captcha every time. Hi Tob - I had the same problem, and finally tracked it down to a coding problem in the Google Map file within the GeoCraft theme. I submitted the technical details to support, but they still haven't made the correction for general release. Hi Mo - they are different. Nothing we're discussing in this thread will affect the lead enquiries through the sign-in dashboard. The plugins we're discussing will let you add additional web forms throughout your site as well as to replace the Geocraft contact-us page and its form. For example you may want to create an FAQ page on your site using one of the many available free plugins, and then on the same page have a way for someone to contact you with more questions. That's where the plugins that Gourav and I mentioned will help.
