Front Page Static Page

Hi All,

How can I putting a static page on front page instead of put in a blog post?

What can I do it?

Hello,

If you are trying to set another page in place of default front page then follow the steps given below.

1. Create your static home page from Pages > Add New panel of dashboard.
2. Go to the Appearance >Theme Options > General Settings panel and turned off your front page.
3. Go to Reading Settings panel (Settings > Reading) and select your static page as a front page from there.

This will solve your issue.

It did not solve my problem.
Actually I wish to remain the slider, lead form, fb widget and front page features.
and only switch the blog post to become a static just on the right handside of fb widget.

I did exactly what you asked to do and It did not work.
When I turned off the front page, slider, fb widget, features all disappear.

What should I do?

 

Hello,

Download the "front-page.php' file attached with this post and replace it with your current front-page.php file present in your theme directory.

I hope this will solve your issue.

 

Any more easier method like put in the code on custom CSS?

 

Because in case I would like to enable the original front page.php...

Hello,

Create backup for previous front-page.php and save it in your system.
If you want to enable the original one than replace the customized front-page.php with this file.
This will solve your issue.

 

HI Piyush, I have attached the front-page.php to the file manager under themefolder. But I do not think it solved my problem.

and i have deleted original front-page.php to back up it to my hard drive.

1. The front page blog post area become a selective page
2. remain the fb widget box on right handside.

Firstly edit original front-page.php file of theme by pasting the code given below in that file as instructed in the image given below

Code:

<p class="static_area"> Enter your text here </p> 

.
.
.




And then remove the previous customized front-page.php file and activate the original front-page.php file in the theme through FTP.

This will solve your issue.

What i did:
1. Delete the customized front page php that you have send me
2. upload the original fron page php on FTP
3. edit the code on appearance>> editor>> front page

So how can you select the page that I wanna show in front page as a static page?

I have selected a page from setting>> reading >> static page >> sample page...

But nothing comes out on front page.

If you asking me to add in the article on editor, it would be a headache for me actually..

However, the fb box on right hand side did not shows up even I have put in the fb page address on howe widget.

Pls advice.

Hello,

Reading setting static page will not work here. You need to add your static content in the "front-page.php" file. At the place shown in the image attached.

except, manually put in the text on home page. Do you have any other method which i can easily just select the page that I want to be in front page?

Because if by doing manually edit the front.php, it would be difficult for mr to hyperlink the text or put in the photo as well. Pls understand.
