Front page suddenly disappeared

Hi,
My front page suddenly disappeared (with the slides etc.). I didn't do anything and when checking my theme settings the front page is still turned on... but still an empty page with the sidebar is showing?

For this go to the

Dashboard > Settings > Reading and set it as shown in image.
