GEOCRAFT image upload is distorted?

    I have the GEOCRAFT THEME and when a customer goes to upload there photo it comes out stretched and looks horrible. how can I fix this. Also when a client signs up it does not send them or me a notification email for reregistering. Any help would be good Thank You!
