I want to completely get rid of the social media area on the right side of the footer so that I can have an extended area for text in the copyright area on the left side of the footer. In other words, I would like the entire footer area contain a string of text.
Go to footer.php present in your theme directory and follow the instruction as shown in image given below This will solve your issue.
