Header Issue

You had me add the following code to make the header bigger but when I add my logo image it looks like this. The image will not go to the header size of 950px by 140px. This is the code you had me enter in the CSS block:
.header {
overflow: hidden;
background-color: white;
min-height: 140px;
width: 950px;
}
