    Hi,
I am really worried about what is happening to my site.
Every morning I check how many pages are listed with the search engines.
    Usually it is 28 - 30.
    Today it is 57!
I did not make any changes to the site yesterday.
I checked the listings, I use this tool:
    http://www.site-map.co.uk/pages-indexed.html

It looks like some of the pages are being duplicated, but not just duplicated, new titles have been assigned, the pages are including things that I did not put on the original and all sorts of weird things.

    This is the original page:

These are some of the ‘duplicated pages’
    http://www.doncastercarpetcleaners.co.uk/rug-cleaning-doncaster/rug-cleaning-doncaster/

    http://www.doncastercarpetcleaners.co.uk/price-promise/carpet-cleaners-doncaster-carpet-protection/

    http://www.doncastercarpetcleaners.co.uk/special-offers/doncaster-carpet-cleaners-special-offers/

I made the site so that no archiving was possible (with your help) and no comments. Now it is possible for people to leave comments on these unwanted extra pages that are somehow being created.
I am extremely worried about this. I have worked really hard on the seo and now have my business on the first page.
I am very concerned that I will be penalised for duplicate content and lose my ranking.
Can anybody help me with this?
    Many thanks
    Paul.

It appears that these are pages you created as "admin" when you first setup your site. You can see your comment that says "test" on one of your duplicate posts. You can see the date on your "extra" posts in your dashboard. Are they all recent dates meaning the hackers just created them or are the dates older meaning you probably made them during the setup of your website?

Never ever use "admin" for your login information. There is a Russian hacking group that brute forces their way into thousands of blogs because people don't change their default account setup.

So first thing is to check your backend admin area and go to USERS. If your default account is set to "admin" or you have extra users and one of the names is "admin" you will need to delete that user. Before you do that create another username with Admin priviledges. This way when you delete your "admin" username you can transfer all of your posts and pages to your new username.

So without knowing how you have your website setup... it sounds like your "admin" account was hacked or you made these posts when you first setup the website and you forgot they were there. Either way I would change your login info. Never ever use "admin" as your default username!

Just delete your "extra" posts from the dashboard and change your login info and your problem should be solved.
