Home page settings

Hello,
(1) On my home page settings ,when I go to feature text box, Can I edit the 3 text lines
so I have my exact wording on each line? Right now whatever I type runs together.

(2) What is the best way to upgrade the version of Blackbird? (I think I have 1.9 installed)?
Should I FTP the new file on top of the old file?
