How can I add a page and not have it show up in the menu?

How can I add a page and not have it show up in the menu? Its a privacy policy and so it really doesnt need to be up in the main menu. I can easily hard code it into a widget in the footer. But as soon as I add a page to the site, it always shows up in the menu at the top of all pages. How can I get around this?

Go to
Appearance > Menus
Create a custom menu and only add the pages that you want to show in the navigation bar.
