How do I use Sandbox to test?

In 'Paypal Settings it says:

'For testing purpose choose "Yes" in Paypal Sandbox Mode'
and in Merchant Id - 'enter the Sandbox Email'

1) Is that it? do I have to set up anything in Sandbox - apart from creating an account?

2) Where do I see the results of test transactions
- inside GEO theme?
- and inside PayPal?

3) And can I upgrade via Sandbox and see results too?

4) Are they exactly as they would be with normal paypal transactions?

I have the same question/request, please provide a procedure for testing the paypal sandbox. I have m sandbox setup in paypal, my set up is also ok in my geo site; however,when trying to execute a transaction, geo does take me to the paypal login page but I don't seem to know what email and password to type there. thanks

To create sandbox account follow link given below.
https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/lifecycle/sb_create-accounts/

You will get you two id.
1) Merchant id.
2) Buyer id and it's password.

To use sandbox at geocraft theme. Go to the Dashboard > Geocraft settings > Payment Settings
"on" sandbox mode and add your sandbox merchant id there.



After this you can check any payment mode (submit pro listing, upgrade free listing).
Suppose we are submitting pro listing then submit button will redirect to the paypal page. Where we need to enter sandbox buyer id and password.

Everything will work as a actual payment. You can see transaction at the
Dashboard > Geocraft settings > Transaction.

Thanks, your info did help me a little bit but in the end I was able to figure out and test it. For other users like myself that don't have much experience with paypal sandbox, follow the instructions provide above to access your paypal sandbox. However, paypal's sandbox does not give 2 ID's automatically, you have to create a merchant test account and a buyer test account.
- The merchant test account (email address) is the one you type in Geo's settings as described above.

** to do a transaction test:
a)just have the test user (in this case the buyer) create a pro listing where buyer needs to pay
b)buyer follows steps to create/buy pro listing until paypal payment screen is displayed
c) buyer inputs "buyer test account' email address and password created in sandbox and completes payment transaction

** to check transactions on the merchant side:
a) login to paypal sandbox using merchant test email address and password
b) verify transaction was completed (money was received)

** to check transaction on buyer side:
a) login to paypal sandbox using buyer test email address and password
b) verify transaction was completed (money was sent or deducted from account)
