How do you motivate free listers to upgrade?

Hi, I'm still a little hazy - free listers don't get the leads form, I understand that - but what's to stop them from being contacted through the information that they put in their listing? For example, it shows who they are, where they are - why would they upgrade just to get the leads form when they know that people can contact them from other info on their listing?

How do other Geocraft theme users manage keeping free listers listings free of contact details? Or do you just let them put their contact details in descriptions, etc.?

    Thanks!

The free users cannot be featured on either the homepage or the category page.

The paid user has a different color background, to almost 'catch the users eye'.

The paid users also have the 'quick contact form' which allows them to receive messages by email, and in their user dashboard.

Paid also, you can set to list for a longer period of time, and in-turn you can do the same with the free, and make it only a day-week posting. While making it only a 'test-run'.

Some other cool options could be added by custom development, although I believe that is the selling features at the moment.

There may be other things I am forgetting ^_^

You can customise many options only to display on paid for listings, its up to you what you give free listings and what you reserve for paid for listings...

I added simple table to my site to illustrate the difference between the packages http://www.stokebusinesslistings.com/free-vs-premium/

But I do have that pressing question - what's to stop free users putting their contact email/phone in their free listing?

The two simple options are a) Only show the description in the Premium Listing or b) Set all free listings to pending then moderate and edit out the premium content they try to add there.

The other option being that the free listing is not published until the administrator checks it, this is a time you can easily edit the content permitted within the free listing content, ie email and links, again this is a good practice to also do with the Premium listings in helping the business listing have an optimized listing, also helps the directory status, at times it is also necessary to edit an image or so, only takes a few moments when always checking your sites listings and content if suitable for publishing.

    Cheers Tob
