Every time I add several new listings it moves my featured listing out of the slider. Each time I have to go in and edit the date to make these featured listings published after the new entries.
Hello, It is the feature of the theme that when a new listing is added then the old listing will not show above, in order to show it above you have to manually change the time of the listing. There is no other way to show the listing above.
Isn't a listing using a custom post type? If so, why can't you simply add in the native wp functionality of making the featured posts sticky? Seems like there is any easy fix for this. Then simply set the default for all "featured" listings to sticky, this way all non-featured (free) listings will display below the featured ones without having to manually change the date of publishing of featured listings every time a we free listing is added.
This cleared up how I get a listing into the slider. I changed the date of the listing. Didn't matter if the featured button was checked it wouldn't show up until I changed the date.
To create sticky post, download and activate the sticky custom post types plugin and configure it through see screencast image: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sticky-custom-post-types/
