How to customize footer and Categories right side menu?

I couldn't find where I can customize the footer an the right side menu. Marked in the image attached.

You can customize right side widgets and footer widgets using Widgets in Appearance as shown below in screenshot.

Thanks! I could change the footer widgets and the side bar widget.

But the side bar is still taking some space from the pages. How can I turn off the side bar so I could use the space better with a "larger" page?
