How to customize footer

I have created a child theme but need a little guidance on how to customize the footer.

Here is what I want:

 

What I am having trouble with is centering the weather app, since there are 4 footer areas. Can you please tell me how to turn it into 3 (or 1) footer area? Thanks.

For this download "sidebar-footer.php" file attached and replace it with your existing sidebar footer file.

I'd like to use your file, however wouldn't it be overwritten with any theme updates?

I have a child theme, but the sidebar-footer.php doesn't seem to take precedence when I put it into the child theme's folder.

The file given by Nitesh is working fine in the child theme.
I think its a cache issue, so clear the cache of your system or check your website on another system.

 

Thank you. The footer now displays centered with 3 footer areas.

However, the widgets panel still show 4 areas. How do I fix that?

Hello,

It require lots of customization to remove the fourth footer widget section from the dashboard.
But all footer widgets are active except fourth footer widget area.
So do not use fourth footer widget area.
