How to get category to show on home page

Hi
how do i get options or activate showing categories on the home page?
in the image attached i think this is the right area to customise but there
are no options.

It seems that you have missed out to create and assign category to your product,

I would like to suggest you to firstly create and assign the category to your product as per your requirement and after that check out that field as you mentioned in your above screenshot.

Please follow the screenshot given below.



After this steps, you will get the option to show category on your homepage.

Thanks for your help i thought you just had to have the Category created - didn't realise you have to have something linked.
Better for me to ask a stupid question here than waste hours over simple things when you know how ;-)
