How to Restrict Categories & and control custom fields based on the category

Hi there,

I'm new to wordpress and themes. I'm using classicraft to build a classified site similar to craigslist. I have the following two problems ...

1. In classicraft, I'm trying to allow users to list their items for sale and specify a price and/or list a service or event without allowing the user the option to enter a price. "For sale", "Services" and "Events" are categories. I found "Price" in the custom field menu. I found out that I can either have "price" present for all posts/categories or it can be removed for all of them. Can I select which categories would show the custom field, so when the user tries to post an ad, it would be based on the category the user chooses, then the custom field "price" would show up or not? And how?


Also, I would like to restrict some categories to some user. For example, an authorized user can post in the events' section, but non-authorized users can only post ads for things they want to sell. In other words, I would like to allow some user the ability to post in some restricted categories. Can this be done in classicraft and how?

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do that with our theme unless you custom code something up. Sorry.
