How to update latest geocraft theme

am using older version geocraft theme i want to update with latest one , how to update theme without loosing any data and settings.

I updated with latest theme , but i lost address entry ...all the data is there , but address field entry empty ...Why ?? I can retrive it or again need to enter address

oh sorry, we have upgraded the address field that's why its unable to fetch the address value. You have to enter the address value manually. Hence we have added an update functionality in this theme that appears on themes page. When we upgrade the theme, its notify you in themes setting page. After this you would not have to update manually.

 

Where do we find the upgraded theme file to upload? and is the FTP upload option the best and safest to use?

 

I have just re-uploaded the theme from the trial area, but nothing has changed. Is this the latest version?

 

How I updated from Version 1.1 to Version 1.4 - I downloaded the geocrafttheme.zip file from my inktheme account, I unzipped it and renamed it geocrafttheme1 and uploaded it to the /public_html/wp-content/themes via FTP. Then logged in to wp-admin under Appearance and there was the new theme. I activated it and so far so good, with no loss of content or settings. I am now updating it from 1.4 to 1.5... fingers crossed.
