Importing listings

I am trying to populate a directory I have set up and have just tried to import over 700 listings that I prepared in a CSV file. For some strange reason only 585 listings were successfully added (it didn't tell me which ones were unsuccessful so now I'll have to go through all of the listings to find the ones that were not added).

Also, the maps have not been added, nor the contact name, times, phone number, web address, email address and only the first image (not the other four).

The other problem that I can now see is that each listing does not have it's own login account. This is a problem because I want each business listing to be managed by the individual business themselves so they will need a user account.

Any help with these matters will be most appreciated.

Just found the answers to some of these problems. Most of the data wasn't showing because by default it's not enabled for free listings. This can be changed in Geocraft Settings --> Custom Fields.

Still not sure why it didn't import all the listings. And unsure about the best way to create a user account for each listing.

 

Figured out why a lot of listings were not imported. I had category names using the & symbol such as "Business & Finance". Any listing with this in the category did not get imported.

Seems you have worked most problems. I had similar situation. Resolved by using Ultimate SEO which allows SEO for each listing. Plug-in dashboard has business listing -- each listing has number -- the ones that did not show up under the main geocraft business listing were shown there. Great SEO plugin for this theme.
