I have been using the Infoway theme since December 2016 - I believe the version is 1.6.7. My server admins will be upgrading to PHP 7.x sometime in the near future, and after running some tests on the code, it would appear that this version of Infoway is not compatible with newer versions of PHP. I am contemplating whether I should manually make the changes that are necessary for the theme to run on a newer version of PHP or if I should purchase the latest version of Infoway. It all depends on whether the latest version is compatible with PHP 7.1. Please advise. Thank you!
Hi Darrin, Thank you for contacting us. Will you please let me know which version of InfoWay theme you are using? The latest version of the theme is compatible with the PHP 7.1. I look forward to hearing from you. Best Regards, Akbar InkThemes.com
Hi Akbar, we are using Infoway Version: 1.6.7. Is the new theme also backward compatible with older versions of PHP, version 5.3.10 for instance? Thank you!
Hello, You are using Infoway Version: 1.6.7 and the latest version is 1.7.1. So you are requested to update the theme to the latest version. The updated version is available in the members area. Just visit your members account: https://www.inkthemes.com/members/member and download the latest version of the theme. Next, extract the zip file of the theme and rename that folder like theme_name to theme_name_new, Again, you would need to create a zip file of that renamed folder (say: theme_name_new.zip), Now, upload the theme to your WordPress from Dashboard->Appearance->Themes->Add New, Then, activate your theme, This way you can install and activate the latest version in your site, keeping the copy of your older version on your WordPress It would be better if you update the PHP version also. Please check the minimum requirements for WordPress: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ If you want to run the theme on PHP version 5.3.1 then you can run it. If you encounter any issue then let us know, We are here to help you. Regards, Akbar InkThemes.com
