ISSUE: View of Home Page Google Map

Greetings!

I'm attempting to create a local restaurant directory and am having trouble with the Home Page Google Map settings.

Since it's a city/local listing, I want the map to be zoomed in like this:



But this is what I'm getting:



I've entered, what I think is, the correct API key ... but am unable to get the Home Page map to zoom in farther.

There probably is another entry for this but it was some time ago!

However, in your Admin IDE you need to go to Appearance > Editor > map_search.php and find the line that contains 'zoom: 3'

Change the value to suit your site (I use a value of 11 which seems to be right for me) and Save/Update File. You may have to temporarily disable any plugin protection (Firewall or similar) while you do this, I usually open the plugins list in another tab for convenience and speed. Remember to activate it again as soon as you've done the file update!

You may have to clear any cache that you have but the results should be viewable straight away!

Would have been nice for this to have been a user definable setting as when an update comes along you have to do the same thing again each time!

Great fix for initial settings. Remember you still have zoom in/out feature to the right of the map.
