After reading lots of threads I am slightly confused ! Does a free listing automatically have a lead capture, if so is there a way to turn it off for free listings ? and do the leads go to the listings email, in their back office or both ? and is it different for free and paid ? thanks
The lead capture form is displayed for all kind of listings, however the free listing owner doesn't see any leads in his account dashboard while the paid listing owner sees the leads in his dashboard. The site admin however can see all the leads on all the listing at any time.

Yes, Both free and paid listings owner will receive mails from lead capture. but leads of free listings can't be stored and shown in the dashboard. You can't off lead capture form only for free listings.
